The Bois de Vincennes is a great place to enjoy a nice walk and relax away from the busy streets of Paris while still being in the city of Love. When you reach the north end of the Bois de Vincennes, you will be astonished by the Chateau de Vincennes. It was once the favorite second home for several kings during the 14^th century. Today, it is open to the public to allow for the opportunity to feel like French royalty. In the southwest section of the park you will encounter the Redoute de Gravelle, a fort constructed during the 19^th century. The Grand Palais in Paris is currently hosting an exhibition of Claude Monet’s art from September 22^nd to January 24^th 2011.

It is the first major exhibition in France of Claude Monet’s work in over 30 years, with over 200 paintings from French and foreign museums.

It traces the 19th century painter’s long career, starting with his early landscapes in Normandy and the Paris region from the 1870s through to the iconic and well known depictions of his garden and ponds in Giverny.
