At 7PM the Klaus K Wine Club with Julicher Estate will start. Their Finnish wine maker Outi Jakovirta is attending and will present the wines and tell about Julicher Estate and wine making. One example of Outis excellence is that her Julicher Estate Pinot Noir 2006 was awarded by NZ International Wine Show 2007 as Champion Wine of the Show.

A VIP visit to a Riojan winery

The trip begins at 10:00 am. It is intended that visitors take part in the agricultural work that is being done in the vineyards at a certain time of the year. The participants enjoy a light lunch in the vineyards. Afterwards, at noon, they visit a cellar and this is when the main part of the trip begins. During this time, they take part in a lecture about winemaking – the process of making wine from grapes. They taste 6 different wines from the house during the grand tasting with the main focus on the origin of the aromas and the flavor notes. The trip is completed with a typical local dish.

At the end of this visit, we recommend you to have a walk around its fortified medieval city centre which will definitively be a pleasant stroll, or if you wish, just for finalizing your visit to this historic city, you can taste an appetizer. Afterwards, we will go to the next destination, the Sierra de la Demanda.

In the winter, if the weather is nice, it is very attractive, to ascend to the San Lorenzo or Cruz de la Demanda peaks, in order to enjoy the snow.
