Toren Hotel, Amsterdam Awarded “BEST CITY BOUTIQUE HOTEL”

City hotel ‘The Toren’ of Amsterdam has been chosen as the ‘best city boutique hotel of the world’. The Toren received this prestigious award during the annual Boutique Hotel Awards Presentation Ceremony, held in London on November 1st as recognition for the luxury hotels’ unique concept and stylish interior.

Proud owners and directors of the Toren, Eric and Petra Toren, commented on their recent award, “This recognition is a great honor for The Toren. We are truly happy to see our efforts rewarded. We are proud to receive this award as a result of the hard work of our team”.

“The Toren has expertly decorated rooms with a clear flair for style. Light is played with in ways we’d never seen, creating moods that change with the rising and setting of the sun. Our judges were particularly impressed by the seamless knowledge that the proud staff had of their city and the ingenious techniques the management used to train its staff, that constantly calibrated the minds of the staff to the emotional experience of their guests,” said Edward Gabbai, director and member of the jury of Boutique Hotel Awards. Other nominees included Hansar Hotel in Bangkok, Lydmar Hotel in Stockholm, The Arch in London and Tigerlily in Scotland. Earlier this year the Toren was awarded the prestigious awards of 2012 Trip Advisors Traveller’s Choice Award for Best Luxury and Best Service Hotel.  It was also voted top 10 most romantic hotels in the world by Readers Digest.

The Best City Boutique Hotel Award is an initiative of Boutique Hotel Awards in London. In an ever-shrinking world of globalized brands and international hotel chains, a truly individual experience is a rare find. However, there are a number of hidden gems around the world, which retain their individuality through their small size and keen sense of style and culture. The Boutique Hotel Awards look to provide such establishments with the acclaim and reward that they so dearly deserve, championing hotels that possess a unique character whilst still providing world-class services and facilities.

Since 2011 hotels are awarded in different categories: Best Beach Hotel, Best City Hotel, Best Classic Hotel, Best Design Hotel, Best Dining Hotel, Best Honeymoon Hotel, Best New Hotel and Best Spa Hotel. This year there were over 300 nominees from 35 countries.
