New York City- Travel Tips – part I

I have just visited New York and I would like to share my impressions of the city with you.

Whoever traveled to New York City knows that the following lyrics: “These streets will make you feel brand new, Big lights will inspire you” of the song of Alicia Keys and Jay-Z are nothing else than the truth! New York is such an amazing city where even walking along the streets itself is a marvelous experience. Its high buildings are astonishing and the atmosphere is impressive. Once you are in Manhattan, you might feel a little bit lost, but only for a moment. The transportation system is great and will take you wherever you want. Even though Manhattan seems to be of a huge size, you can easily walk everywhere within the district you are in. A good map, comfortable shoes, a bottle of water and a good camera is all you need! In case you are lost, you can always ask people living and working there for a piece of advice and I can assure you, they have a great sense of humor and will certainly help you.

Below, I present a list of places which you cannot miss while visiting New York with some images attached. These are must see attractions. However, do not forget to just walk and observe everyday life of New Yorkers, stop by and see where they eat lunch. Also have a nice breakfast in a nearby café as there are thousands of those and always look around as you do not know which celebrity walking by you may encounter. For example, I shook hands, had a chat, got the autograph and took a picture with Will Smith!

• Have a walk in Central Park which is enormous. That is why it is not very crowded, as everyone is spread around the park. For sure you will find moments of tranquility in Central Park.

• Take the elevator all the way up to the Top of the Rock, located in the Rockefeller Center Observatory. The best time is to go just before it gets dark in order to have a clear view of the city, especially Central Park. The views are breathtaking during the nighttime as the city’s lights are countless and very exciting.

• When it gets dark, head out to the world famous Times Square and just watch, observe and admire the lights illuminating your face.

• Take yourself in a cultural and gastronomic journey: visit Chinatown, Little Italy and Koreatown where you will actually forget that you are in New York, US.

• Visit Ground Zero and go back in time when you were a witness to this history.

• Walk along Wall Street and feel like you were about to sign a 1 million dollar contract.

• Walk along Brooklyn Bridge as it is as beautiful as they say.
