A week ago we introduced the Christmas Markets in Berlin. As we got many requests from our readers to present the Christmas Markets in other cities as well, today we invite you to Vienna!
A trip to a Christmas Market is a great occasion to visit European cities. It does not only mean to go to places that one has never seen before, but also to rediscover cities under other circumstances.
A visit to a Christmas Market has become more and more popular. No wonder why! It is a great opportunity to travel, to spend time with family and friends in a unique atmosphere, to buy some Christmas decorations, to purchase presents or just to enjoy a moment… Where else you can immerse yourself in the warm and flashing atmosphere of shops, stands, fruits dipped in marzipan or a glass of hot wine…?
From mid November through Christmas, the prettiest squares in Vienna are changed into Christmas Markets. We counted at least 9 of them.
Every year the City Hall Square is transformed into a Christmas Market. There are around 150 wooden boots offering a great amount of Christmas delicacies, decoration, gifts and warm drinks. The Advent wreath has around 40 foot and is probably the biggest in the whole city.
