Sightseeing and shopping in Guadalajara and Tlaquepaque*
Two of Mexico’s finest sightseeing and shopping destinations can be found only a two and half hour drive from the Hacienda. Our drivers can take you; let us know a day before.
This tour may also be arranged via air transfer from our landing strip, about 35 minutes flight. (price upon request).
Guadalajara*
This city is the second largest cities in Mexico in area and population; it is one of the oldest cities in Mexico. It is recognized for its majestic cathedral and many churches, its popular legislative building with mural-painted walls, its old orphanage now a museum with mural-painted ceilings, its San Juan de Dios Market for almost anything at a bargain price, and many 18th century French homes architecture. It is also quite well known as a haven for modern shoppers looking for designer-brands.
Tlaquepaque*
This municipality of Jalisco State is a 30 minute drive from busy Guadalajara. It retains much of its old charm with cobble-stoned streets, colorful homes-especially along Calle Independencia- that have been tastefully transformed to high-end arts and crafts boutiques and traditional-cuisine restaurants. Also, Tlaquepaque boasts one of the largest Portales in Mexico. This tour is recommended from Mondays to Saturdays. A Tlaquepaque shopping-guide is available at our Front Office.
