LUXURY YOGA WEEKEND
26th & 27th June 2010
(2 nights / 2 days)
Kahanda Kanda, Sri Lanka’s most exclusive boutique hotel is offering yet another of its’ fantastic luxury weekend yoga retreats. Set on a working tea estate just 30 minutes from the centre of Galle, KK is the perfect place for a weekend of health, peace & general well being.
Yoga classes will be conducted by one of our favourite yogis, Australian Sam Whybrow. Sam teaches a Vinyasa flow style practice, an energetic form of yoga that emphasizes linking movement and breath, with a dance-like fluidity that connects the asanas.
At the core of all classes, there will be an effort to cultivate a deeper awareness of the transformations taking place on your yoga mat, and then finding a way to translate them into your daily life. Expect to find ways to incorporate yoga into everyday tasks such as washing dishes, cooking, reading a book, driving your car, or sitting at your desk. Sam’s secret aim is to help you find a way to “live” your yoga, not just do it.
Weekend starts Friday 25th, and finishes after the afternoon session of yoga on Sunday 27th.
Prices start from 25,000/- rps per person

Perched high above Koggala Lake with stunning views across the lake and jungle, this 10acre working tea estate is a collaboration of the English designer/owner and a talented Australian architect has produced a villa of outstanding ethnic luxury and style. Yellow Moon Lodge, a name synonym to Kahanda Kanda was built in 2000 as a private villa, Kahanda Kanda is now one of the chic brigades of boutique hotels, perched on top of a ridge and surrounded by a 12-acre tea estate. It is 15km from Galle, 5 km inland from the coast and still being only ten minutes from the world’s best beaches. Accommodation is arranged in terraced, stand alone, en-suite pavilions which offer breathtaking panoramic views of palm fringed jungle and the Indian Ocean while ‘room’ is stylishly and comfortably furnished in the Asian manner. Offering an exquisite fusion cuisine, the hotel uses only the freshest local produce, along with a selection of vegetables and herbs grown on the estate, thereby ensuring the best of flavors. Both the two resident chefs have been trained in Thailand, and offer a mouth-watering range of Thai dishes, as well as western fusion specials. The infinity edged pool enables the energetic to work off an indulgent lunch, whilst others simply float around. At the deepest end a cascade falls from the carved wall above, flowing across the pool to its perpetuity edge and seeming to flow beyond to Koggala Lake in the distance.
